I hope everyone is enjoying the tail end of summer. Time is flying by, and I’m sure many of you are already starting your normal fall tempo of work!

Several new institutions joined the CampusCISO community in the past 2 weeks. Welcome to all of you!

I’m including a summary of the institution types that have joined. I’ll share additional demographic data as our user community continues to grow.

Website updates

I’ve continued working on new feature updates while spending a few days at the Black Hat conference in Las Vegas last week. Here’s a quick summary of projects that are in flight:

  • The NIST Cybersecurity Framework mapping update is almost complete. There are a few more capabilities to finish mapping to the framework, but you will get usable results if you run the compliance analysis report after completing your assessment worksheets.
  • There is a new compliance analysis report in the works! The current report lists each control and your assessments answers for any capabilities that could meet the control objectives. Watch for the new streamlined report soon!
  • We will add mapping to the NIST 800-171 requirements next. That work should be complete around Labor Day weekend.

Thanks again to all of you for being early adopters! Please continue to send in your comments and suggestions as we continue to build the best resource for higher education institutions to plan their cybersecurity strategy and research potential vendor options.
